Yoddoi Organic Homemade

Organic coffee from sustainable agriculture process
2019 SEED Low Carbon Award Sustainable Agriculture ChiangRai, Thailand

Yoddoi sells organic single origin Arabica coffee grown in Doichang area of ChiangRai province, north of Thailand. It promotes organic farming amongst Akha hill tribe, a small group of coffee growers, and creates a farmers' satisfaction price to generate sustainable income for farmers.

Distributed in department stores and on its website, Yoddoi targets specialty coffee drinkers who also care about health, environment and social causes, both Thais and foreigners who live in Thailand.

Eco-Inclusive Impacts

Yoddoi focuses on creating a cycle of sustainable agriculture that benefits its suppliers – hill tribe farmers – customers, and environment.
  • Providing legal and decent jobs to Akha hill tribe families
  • Improving health and living conditions of the community by reducing exposure to chemical herbicides and fertilizers

  • Saving water use by applying semi-washed process that can save 70% and natural-dry process that can save 100% water
  • Promoting zero waste concepts as the coffee waste (cherry pulp) will be used in other product lines or natural compost for coffee trees
  • Increasing annual income of the hill tribe farmers in DoiChang area by 15%
  • Promoting ethical trading by supporting farmers satisfied prices
