Green Recovery Forum
Leveraging the contributions of MSMEs to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals
Green Recovery Enterprise Clinic
The Green Recovery Enterprise Clinic is part of the Green Recovery Forum: Leveraging the contributions of MSMEs to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals, an effort to bring MSMEs potential and contribution to Green Recovery to light by connecting a growing regional network of MSMEs, and intermediaries with policy makers and other key stakeholders. Utilising a co-creation approach with different ecosystem players, the Green Recover Forum consists of 2 lead-up events (Green Recovery Clinic and Green Recovery Intermediary Lab) and 1 public event, Green Recovery Multi-Stakeholder Forum.
Green Recovery Enterprise Clinic, targeted MSMEs, will explore and emphasize the contributions that MSMEs could have play in green and equitable recovery, assess existing challenges hindering them from the path of SDGs and needs for COVID-19 resilience. Through a virtual participatory workshop guided by assessment, MSMEs will come together to comprehensively assess topic areas relevant for their social and green MSME: business, finance, ecosystem support, social and environmental factors. The MSMEs business challenge assessment results, which shows enterprise needs for support and priority areas, will be compiled and presented to intermediaries and policy makers to effect change in policies which support MSMEs.
Green Recovery Intermediary Lab
In the Green Recovery Intermediary Lab, MSMEs intermediary actors will come together to review existing national level support options and co-create practical policy recommendations built on the findings from the Green Recovery Enterprise Clinic. Through a virtual prototyping and co-creation workshop, the Lab process will facilitate interactions among participants to prototype Green Recovery enterprise support recommendations that emphasize human rights-based approach, gender equality, and promote inclusive business practices under the guidance of SEED team and partner organisation.
Green Recovery Multi-Stakeholders Forum
Based on the gathered insights and recommendations from the Green Recovery Enterprise Clinic and Intermediary Lab, the Green Recovery Multi-Stakeholder Forum which will be hosted virtually on March 31st (2:00-5:00 pm GMT+7) engages a wider circle of ecosystem stakeholders which includes public agencies, development partners, international organisations, corporate foundations, and civil society organisation to highlight the role of MSMEs in the Green Recovery and scaling MSMEs support options. The forum will also be used to showcase the policy recommendations leveraging the insights harvested throughout the two lead-up events to support the overall uptake with key stakeholders.
The Green Recovery Forum serves as a culminating public event of 60-80 participants with an aim to facilitate dialogues about Green Recovery MSMEs policy decisions. The Multi-Stakeholder Forum provides a platform to create mutual recognition for sustainable goals in economic recovery, boosting back income, and growth on a fair and environmentally-friendly path. Mainstreaming the Green Recovery with the main stakeholder groups which are MSMEs, intermediaries, and policymakers will translate into more decent jobs, gender equality and social inclusiveness, and sustainable communities.
