SEED West Africa Symposium 2017
How do we realise the full potential of enterprise solutions for contributing to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and how do we propel West Africa on the path towards an inclusive green economy?
Eco-inclusive enterprises can play a critical role in fostering the implementation of the 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda and establishing the inclusive green economy. Innovative enterprise solutions provide suitable approaches to clean energy and efficient use, climate and environmentally-smart agriculture, waste management and recycling challenges. Solving complicated problems that eco-inclusive enterprises address requires recognition and understanding of the challenges, usually locally based, and an analysis of the best practices needed to resolve it. The hardest part for enterprises is gaining the appropriate expertise for developing their project and scaling it up, if they do not have it in-house. In this sense, rather than reinventing the wheel, enterprises need to replicate when similar challenges have been solved by others enterprises!
How do we replicate proven, successful eco-inclusive business models to trigger action towards West Africa’s endeavour to contribute to inclusive green economy and the Sustainable Development Goals?
The SEED West Africa Symposium will bring together around 100 enterprises, financial institutions, policy makers, business development service providers and civil society representatives to develop groundbreaking approaches and explore partnerships essential to the replication of business models in order to successfully contribute to inclusive green economy and sustainable development in West Africa.
The event is part of the implementation of "Promoting Eco-Entrepreneurship in Africa", a SWITCH-Africa Green multi-country project in Burkina Faso, Ghana, Kenya, Mauritius, South Africa and Uganda.
