about the Symposium

The SEED South Africa Symposium is an annual international forum for sharing knowledge and experience, establishing partnerships, and developing solutions to stimulate the growth of eco-inclusive entrepreneurship in South Africa.

The 2017 topic will be Replicating Innovative Enterprise Solutions for an Eco-Inclusive and Climate Resilient Society in South Africa to discuss how we can collaboratively promote implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals and the Paris Agreement in South Africa.

Highlights

The SEED Investor Forum (by invitation only) establishing fruitful connections between impact investors, fund managers and selected social and environmental enterprises.

Interactive Prototyping Sessions providing a platform for ground-breaking solutions mutually developed by stakeholders from business, politics, academia and civil society.

Inspiring Panels catalysing ideas on a supportive ecosystem for micro, small and medium-sized social and environmental enterprises.

The Enteprise Solutions Exhibition showcasing innovative, locally-driven, entrepreneurial approaches to sustainable development challenges of social and eco enterprises from across the country.

How to get to the Symposium

Route from Pretoria (CBD)

Take N4 highway towards Witbank. Take the round-about towards Johannesburg N1 highway, travel in a southern direction; take the Lynnwood road turn off. At the traffic light, turn left into Meiring Naude road. Follow road, 3rd traffic light, turn left into Hotel street by the Sasol Petrol Station, follow road, go over N1 highway, you will reach boom gates and be directed to The Innovation Hub precinct.

Route from Johannesburg

Take N1 highway towards Polokwane (Pietersburg). Take the Lynnwood road / CSIR off ramp. At traffic light, turn right into Lynnwood road on the bridge over N1 highway, and immediately keep to left hand lane. Turn left into Meiring Naude road. Follow road, go over 4 traffic lights, at 5th traffic light, turn left into Hotel street by the Sasol Petrol Station, follow road, go over N1 highway, you will reach boom gates and be directed to The Innovation Hub precinct.

Route from airport

The conference venue is only about half an hour's drive from the Johannesburg International Airport, South Africa's major air terminal serving more than 30 000 travellers daily. Airport-approved operators and the hotels courtesy services provide taxi, bus and shuttle services between Pretoria and the airport.
