Waste4Change: Stimulating Markets for Waste Credit via Enterprise Resource Planning Platform | Climate Finance, Indonesia 2020
SEED Practitioner Labs Climate Finance in Indonesia engaged financial institutions, funders, intermediaries and other SME ecosystem stakeholders over a multi-step process to co-create innovative climate finance products and mechanisms that extend access to long-term financing opportunities for “missing middle” small and growing climate-smart enterprises that struggle to advance beyond the start-up stage and multiply their contributions to climate-smart and socially inclusive economies.
Waste4Change's Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) platform/app stimulates markets for waste credit in Indonesia. The Enterprise Resource Planning Platform addresses the challenges with finding alternative and long-term financing for waste recycling and waste offsetting for local and global consumers. This proposed climate finance solution involves a consumer offset model where the local and global consumers pay their waste credit to a global waste credit organization and calculate their waste offset. The waste credit payments are then tracked, distributed, and reported via Waste4Change’s ERP platform. This ERP platform provides data on waste collected and recycled. Following data analysis, the platform then transfers the waste credit from the local and global consumers to the certified waste collectors and SMEs in Indonesia.
