SEED Climate Finance Training
Malawi is increasingly affected by climate change with an increasing amount of extreme weather events and the need for climate action becomes an imperative especially since Malawi’s economy is based on climate-sensitive sectors, such as agriculture, tourism, fishery and forestry. Climate finance is available as an effective tool to support and incentivize climate mitigation and adaptation projects and address climate-related risks. In order to channel climate finance from the global to local level, relevant climate-change projects need to be designed and respective financing instruments that ensure the collaboration between public and private stakeholders be put into place.
Through a thorough understanding of the logic of climate finance, climate adaptation and mitigation projects and related financing instruments, the Climate Finance Training equips participants to become frontrunners in climate finance and shape the transition towards a sustainable financial sector in Malawi.
