Enterprise Financing Journey: EcoPlastile Ltd

EcoPlastile (SEED Low Carbon Award Finalist 2019) works with marginalised populations, including youth and women, to collect plastic waste at various collection centres in Kampala, Uganda. The plastic waste is then processed into plastic flakes, Ecopoles and Ecofloor tiles that substitute wooden timbers and earth floors. The products are low cost and durable, and help to eliminate plastic pollution and sanitary issues in slum communities.
The enterprise financing journey of EcoPlatile Ltd is exemplary of the sometimes turbulent and various paths that eco-inclusive SMEs might follow in establishing and expanding their businesses.
