Kick-Off Lab | SEED Practitioner Labs Policy Prototyping
Advancing the transition to inclusive green economies in Malawi through eco-inclusive enterprise development
The SEED Practitioner Labs Policy Prototyping programme in Malawi will include three hands-on and highly collaborative Practitioner Labs, beginning with the Kick-Off Lab on 09-10 April 2019 in Lilongwe.
Eco-inclusive entrepreneurship is critical to Malawi’s transition to a green, inclusive and climate-smart economy. While private sector development, specifically targeting small- and medium-sized enterprises is a government priority across key sectors in Malawi, these enterprises still face a variety of challenges in their efforts to grow and scale their operations and thereby contribute effectively to this transition.
In this context, SEED is excited to announce the launch of its Practitioner Labs Policy Prototyping “Advancing the Transition to Inclusive Green Economies in Malawi through Eco-Inclusive Enterprise Development”. The Practitioner Labs will engage high-level policy-makers, international donors and enterprise support organisations to co-create instruments that increase access to and improve quality of targeted support mechanisms for socially inclusive, environmentally sustainable and climate-smart enterprises, with a focus on the sustainable agriculture, waste management and clean energy sectors.
SEED Practitioner Labs Policy Prototyping leverage the expert knowledge and extensive networks of leading policy-makers and practitioners to fortify:
- Policy Instrument Prototypes with robust implementation roadmaps and innovative characteristics to meet the needs of growing socially inclusive and environmentally sustainable enterprises.
- Community of Climate-Smart Policy-Making Champions fortified through hands-on and collaborative co-creation opportunities.
